Thwarted!
Not by @smiley himself, thank goodness, but thwarted by the clock, in that while the enormous purple neon sign of The Great Drycleaner still burns brightly, the hours are listed on the door and they are closed. Closed until the next business day!
I have alerted both @Seersucker and @Houndstooth via encoded frequencies. Now we must merely wait until the next of these "business days," which is fine, because the Traveling Jackets were MADE for business days! And those shall be the days of our salvation.
Hopefully we will not run into any difficulties while we wait, as The Omega Project is double parked.

If we remain quite still, the captain still suspects we are mere shadow jackets of the mind. But through an amazing stroke of luck, our goal is within our grasp!
Come in, @Seersucker! In the distance glows the great purple neon sign of The Great Drycleaner! And @Houndstooth has secured Base 1. Only @smiley himself could thwart our plans now!

"Aye aye, Captain!" I cry. "Pinstripe! Man the helm! Tweed, you've got tactical!"
We've practiced for this moment for months. As Travelling Jackets, we may not have fingers, but stuff enough straw up our sleeves and we can get things done.
The forward gatling guns rattle the bridge, and our attacker swoops back into the clouds.
"Captain, they're retreating. Should we pursue?"
The captain seems lost in thought, staring at the cloudbank through the forward viewscreen. But we Travelling Jackets seem to have full control of the bridge. We can only hope things are going as smoothly for @Seersucker and crew back at @smiley's Warehouse. Soon our fleet will be complete, and nothing will stop us from reaching The Great Drycleaner.
